Northpointe Training

Our training is designed with the goal of instilling in you the knowledge and confidence necessary to defend yourself or your loved ones. We offer instruction tailored to suit your needs, whether you are just starting out or have been shooting for years! Our instructors are some of the best in the industry at teaching new shooters fundamentals as well as builing a skillset of intermediate and advanced techniques.

Candy has been ecstatically married to her bestest bud, Jim, for 29 years and they have twelve Pettipeeps, all of whom are skilled shooters. Candy began her shooting journey a little over five years ago when she received her CHL and realized, with a ridiculously high amount of clarity and discomfort, that a day’s training and a plastic card from the Sheriff’s Office doth not a skilled and/or competent shooter make.

With this is mind, Candy has avidly pursued firearms and self-defense trainings for herself and her family. She is an NRA, USCCA, and SPB Certified Instructor in multiple disciplines, a former Chapter Leader for Armed Women of America, and a current Chapter Facilitator for both the A Girl & A Gun Akron Chapter & the North Coast Chapter. She is also a Life Member of the NRA and of Buckeye Firearms Association.

Candy is the Training Coordinator for Buckeye Firearms Association and has personally trained with her son, Michael, and her daughter, Abby, at many renowned training facilities such as Tactical Defense Institute, D&D Firearms Instructors, E.A.S.T. Group, Strategos International, Alliance Safety Solutions, Patronus Training, F.A.S.T.E.R Saves Lives, APEX Shooting and Tactics, Ohio Personal Protection Training, Morgan Hayes Training, Spartan Tactical, LouKa Tactical, and Cerino Training Group.

She is passionate about sharing her skills, trainings, and the importance of possessing a defensive mindset, and she uses her warmth and sense of humor to instruct and encourage people who desire to own the responsibility of their personal safety and the safety of their loved ones.
